Moneyline
Moneyline sometimes called “ML” is a bet on who is going to win the game outright. There are no point spreads or anything else complicated involved. All that needs to happen is the team you bet on , win. If for some strange reason there is a tie, you will get your money back.
Spread / Handicap
The spread are points given to or taken away from a team. For example New England -4.5 means they start the game losing by 4.5 points and Philly starts the game with +4.5 winning by 4.5 points. Then at the end of the game that means that for New England to win they need to win by 5 points to “cover the spread” to over come the 4.5 point handicap. On the other side Philly can lose by 4 points and your bet would win. For example if Philly loses by a field goal the -4.5 on New England would lose and the +4.5 on Philly would win. If the spread is a whole number and your bet lands on that number then it is a push (you get your money back). For example if the spread is Philly +3 and they lose by a field goal then your bet is a push, you get your money back, kind of like a tie. This all might sound complex but it is not. Just imgaine one team has a head start. Also remember you are going to get close to even money for these bets which is better than the odds you are going to get betting the favorite moneyline.

Total Score Over/Under
This is a bet on the total score of the game. Team A + Team B scores added together. It does not matter who wins it just matters if the total score will go over or under the bet. For example the current line for the superbowl is 48. That means that and over bet would need 49 points total or more and an under bet 47 or less. A total of 48 would be a push on both over and under bets.
