The Cleveland Cavaliers just lost a TNT-televised matchup to a John Wall-less Washington Wizards. This is not what was expected of this Cleveland Cavaliers team if we gauge them on their pre All-Star Break success. Also from here on out, keep in mind that the Washington Wizards are still a force to be reckoned with EVEN without John Wall because of the emergence of Tomas Satoransky.

However, we should also not expect a poor shooting pattern of behavior to continue with this team. The Cavaliers shot 22% from the Three Point Line: The league average is around 35-40% on any given night. Which brings us to the Pick of the Day: Cleveland Cavaliers -5.0 at the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Cleveland Cavaliers should be able to win this matchup handily even on a back-to-back scheduling. The Memphis Grizzlies have all but cashed in this season and are without critical players (Although Marc Gasol is still playing). The Grizzlies in their prime have a very astute defensive efficiency rating and can be tough to play against. The Boston Celtics also have a strong defensive presence and still lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers by over 15+ points.

Tonight pick the Cleveland Cavaliers behind their new, seemingly improved roster as they go to Memphis to take on the weakened Grizzlies.

Cleveland Cavaliers -5.0 -116 1.86

If any of you have noticed, Dominic Thiem has entered beast mode and is knocking out competitors left and right. Thiem just got out of a match (due to opponent injury) and is fresher than his counterpart, Fernando Verdasco.

Fernando Verdasco leads the head-to-head rating (2-0 Lifetime) against Dominic Thiem, but this is going to change. Thiem has heavily improved his backhands accuracy and has a killer level of competency on the slow, clay surface. Verdasco has been able to string together a medley of nice wins, but it will take someone of Rafael Nadal caliber to be able to stop Thiem in his current form. Take Dominic Thiem to improve to 2-1 against Verdasco by taking the Game Spread for -110
Dominic Thiem -4.0 Game Spread -110 / 1.91

Also, take a look at the Utah Jazz and the current streak of 5+ wins that they have strung together.
This is behind the likes of Ricky Rubio and his committee of dedicated, veteran players, all of whom are hungry for the playoffs. The Utah Jazz currently sit outside of playoff contention and are the proverbial ‘Team on a Mission’ in the NBA today. Last time the Jazz played the Trailblazers they smoked them by over 10 points. This game is different because it is in Utah, but that should not deter one from selecting the Utah Jazz at -3.0 (Moneyline is advised as well). Last year, Utah was known for its defensive prowess, and this year they have improved significantly on offense as seen in their consecutive 100+ point victories. The Trailblazers have also had some impressive success and are currently in the playoff seeding. They beat the Golden State Warriors but are going to be hard pressed (literally) by this pre-eminent Utah Jazz squad.

Utah Jazz -3.0 -110 / 1.91
