This UFC Fight Night card has some intersting match ups and is part of the build up to the huge card at UFC 213. The main event features Chiesa vs. Lee. At a recent press confernce Lee managed to say something abotu Chiesa´s mom. I am not sure that Lee really got to his head but early betting is showing some money coming in on Lee. This card also has some UFC vets. BJ Penn (yes he is back) fights Dennis Siver who will make his first appearnce in the USADA testing period after having a fight being turned to no contest for testing positive for PEDs. Clay Guida “The Carpenter” is also back after a long break and has to face Erik Koch. Let´s take a closer look at a few of the fights.

Felice Herrig vs. Justine Kish
These two women match up well against each other. Both fighters have solid wrestling and good striking. I would give Kish the slight edge in the striking department and Herrig the slight edge in the wrestling-submission department. There is another difference between these two fighters that you might not have noticed. In Herrig´s last two fights she has really improved and looks much more composed than she did in the past. I would say that her fighter IQ has gone up some and she has figured out when to turn on the aggression and when to stick to the plan. Kish, on the other hand, has not shown me that she won´t deviate from her game plan and sometimes it looks like she is letting her emotions get to her. She has sometimes been too aggressive and just charging forward and also the opposite and not really been active enough. I think that Herring has the edge here and will force Kish to fight backward and with her back against the fence. If Herring gets her on the ground it is going to be a long night for Kish.
Pick Herring ML 1.87
BJ Penn vs. Dennis Siver
BJ Penn is back, again. He is an MMA legend but why is he out of retirement and fighting? Does he really need the money? I don’t think he can compete in the current UFC. BJ Penn had his time in the UFC. All respect to BJ Penn, thank you for spilling blood in the octagon. I do not think he has much of a chance against Siver. Siver has not fought in a while and there is some chatter about this being his first fight in the USADA era. I don´t think it will make a huge difference. Siver is a high-level striker and he also has solid takedown defense and some submissions. I see him using his kicks to keep Penn at a distance and chopping him down. We might even see his most well-known spinning kick to the liver that has finished more than one fight. I really hope Penn goes back to retirement and does not continue to damage his body.
Siver ML 1.47
