Drift.Trade Review

Drift is a DEX, futures trading platform and DEX all in one. All of your pure degen needs are packed into one Dapp on the Solana blockchain. All you need to get started is a Solana wallet like phantom and some funds. No email, no annoying signup process, just connect wallet and press buttons. Let´s have a closer look at how you can bet while you trade while you exchange and trade while you exchange while you stake and lend. Is Drift the Polymarket killer?

Prediction Market

The simplest part of Drift is the prediction market. Currently there is only one market for the upcoming Election 2024 but there are more markets in the works. The use of the interface is simple and straightforward, it is easy to bet. Soon there will be Sports, Politics, Crypto and other markets for you to make your prediction with real skin in the game. Instead of rage tweeting on X put some money where your mouth is, just none of that dirty fiat.

DEX

You can also swap coins on the Drift DEX. Want to get rid of some SOL and get some USDC, swap some MOTHER for some BOME? No problem the Drift DEX has got your back. One of the only DEXs out there that has a nice chart next to your swap order. Unlike other DEXs there is an option for up to 5x leverage. A unique offering that really makes gives you the yolo tingles.

Spot Exchange

The spot exchange has tons of pairs and also has 5x leverage. Spot exchange and leverage is on most platforms a separate area but for the full degenerate experience why not just put them together? There is also a USDT/USDC pair with 10x leverage, want to bet on Tether going bankrupt? This is the place.

Futures

The perpetual futures exchange offers up to 20x leverage on some pairs. You are automatically using cross margin and if you want to isolate your position you can make sub accounts. Remember leverage is a tool that can give life, or death. The perp market makes it easy to build a decent to huge AF position using the magical leverage power.

DeFi

If trading and betting was not enough to get your daily or hourly dopamine injection you can also lend and borrow on Drift. Simply deposit funds, lend them out and earn interest, or borrow funds and trade and hopefully you make enough bank to pay back your loan. You can also stake dsol, stake in the Insurance Fund vaults and earn from the platforms exchange fees. Market Maker vaults allow you to take part in delta neutral trading (that means it doesn’t matter on if the price goes up or down, you are simply providing liquidity to keep the spread tight).

Rewards

You earn FUEL tokens for actions taken on the platform such as trading and staking. In the future you will be able to use these tokens to amplify your Drift experience, what does that mean? I have no idea, but it sounds cool. It might be worth it just to get some trades in, just in case there is some kind of airdrop. There is also a Drift governance token that might be worth looking at.

Conclusion
Somehow Drift has managed to pack almost everything you need to go full degen into one Dapp. Missing are options and more trading pairs, but this platform is promising to say the least. Regardless of if you just want to get a simple prediction bet on, trade 20x or do some Defi lending Drift is there for all your degenerate needs.
